Swap Data and Unused Space Exclusion

Swap Space
Swap space is a type of virtual memory that the operating system uses to store temporary runtime data when physical RAM is full. It can be implemented as a swap file on Windows or a swap partition on Linux. While useful for memory management, swap space can grow significantly and may negatively impact data protection performance during backups or imaging.

Data Consistency
The solution uses the application-aware mode to write all necessary application data to backups and replicas. This way, you can ensure that the exclusion of swap files/partitions does not affect data consistency.

Improved Performance
The solution can automatically exclude swap files/partitions as well as unused space from backups and replicas of VMware vSphere VMs, Microsoft Hyper-V VMs, Amazon EC2 instances and Proxmox VMs. This improves the speed of data protection activities and helps save storage space.
