Alpha Program Terms & Conditions: NAKIVO Backup as a Service and NAKIVO Cloud Storage

NAKIVO Backup as a Service (NAKIVO BaaS) is a new cloud-based solution from NAKIVO that enables organizations to protect critical workloads without the need to deploy and manage their own backup infrastructure.

Designed to simplify data protection and recovery, NAKIVO BaaS helps organizations ensure business continuity with minimal setup and maintenance.

We value insights and feedback from industry professionals like you, as they are essential for shaping the future of this solution. You are invited to participate in our Alpha Program, where you can try the solution firsthand and share your feedback.

Participants in the Alpha Program can receive Amazon eGift Cards for your time and effort.

Please read the following terms and conditions before participating in the Alpha Program (the “Program”). By participating in the Program in any manner, you acknowledge that you accept these terms and conditions (hereinafter – “Terms and Conditions”). If you do not agree with the Terms and Conditions, do not participate in the Program.

1. PROGRAM DURATION

Duration: 4 weeks

2. ELIGIBLE PRODUCTS

The following products are eligible for the Alpha Program:

1. NAKIVO Backup as a Service

2. NAKIVO Cloud Storage

3. ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS

  • Invitation emails will be sent to participants to sign up for the Program with the requirements to qualify for participation.
  • Participants must use their corporate email account to sign up for the Program. Email domains such as Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc., do not qualify for the Program.
  • Confirmation of participation in the Program is granted at the sole discretion of NAKIVO whose decision shall be final and binding.
  • There is no admission fee to participate in the Program.

4. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • Participants must meet all of the following requirements in their testing environment:
    • Minimum number of hosts: 2
    • Platform: VMware vSphere, Proxmox VE, or Microsoft Hyper-V
    • Minimum number of VMs: 20
    • Minimum number of physical hosts: 1
    • Minimum total size of source data: 1 TB
  • Participants must provide their public IP address to be whitelisted for access to the NAKIVO alpha environment.
  • Participants must complete 4 (four) weeks of testing as described below. Only participants who complete all the steps below can qualify for the USD 200 Amazon eGift Card or equivalent value in EUR or GBP.

Week 1:

  • Setup:
    • Log in to NAKIVO Backup as a Service UI with credentials provided by NAKIVO and configure two-factor authentication (2FA).
    • Download and install Direct Connect in your environment.
    • Allow NAKIVO Backup & Replication as Service to discover your environment by adding it to the Inventory.
    • Add a local backup repository to NAKIVO Backup & Replication as a Service.
  • Backup jobs:
    • Create VM backup jobs with the following options:
      • 3 backup jobs:
        • Job 1: At least 3 VMs
        • Job 2: At least 5 VMs
        • Job 3: At least 12 VMs
      • Target: local repository
      • Scheduling and retention:
        • Daily incremental backups (preferably at your normal backup times)
        • Full synthetic backup on Saturday
        • Retention set as per your normal settingsJob 3: At least 12 VMs
    • Create a physical machine backup
      • Repository: local repository
      • Schedule: daily backup
  • Feedback: Create and send a support bundlewith a description of any issues experienced.

Week 2:

  • Recovery:
    • Create and run a full VM recovery job from local repository
    • Perform file recovery from local repository
  • Feedback: Create and send a support bundle with a description of any issues experienced.

Week 3:

  • Backup jobs:
    • Disable jobs to the local repository.
    • Create new VM backup jobs with the following options:
      • 3 backup jobs:
        • Job 1: At least 3 VMs
        • Job 2: At least 5 VMs
        • Job 3: At least 12 VMs
      • Target: NAKIVO Cloud Storage
      • Scheduling and retention:
        • Daily incremental backup (preferably at your normal backup times)
        • Full synthetic backup on Saturday
        • Retention set as per your normal settings
        • Immutability is enabled
    • Create a physical machine backup
      • Schedule: daily backup
      • Target: NAKIVO Cloud Storage
  • Feedback: Create and send a support bundle with a description of any issues experienced

Week 4:

  • [scheduled jobs keep running]
  • Recovery:
    • Create and run a full VM recovery job from NAKIVO Cloud Storage
    • Perform file recovery from NAKIVO Cloud Storage

Feedback: Create and send a support bundle with a description of any issues experienced.

  • At the end of the 4 weeks, participants must complete the feedback Survey about their experience using NAKIVO BaaS and NAKIVO Cloud Storage.

5. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS

  • Participation in the Program is limited to one employee or authorized representative of a company.
  • Participants must use your business email address to register for the Program, send the support bundles, and complete the Survey.
  • Participants must submit the support bundle before the program end date.
  • Participants must fill out the survey before the program end date.
  • All questions in the survey must be answered.
  • The information provided in the survey must be correct and accurate.
  • You agree that a NAKIVO representative may contact you in order to clarify the information provided in the Survey.

6. Amazon eGIFT CARDS

  • Depending on the region and final completion results of the requirements, Participants may receive a $200 Amazon eGift Card, a €170 Amazon eGift Card, or a £140 Amazon eGift Card.
  • Amazon eGift Cards shall be sent to Eligible Participants who have completed all Program Requirements within four weeks from Program End Date.

7. Information submitted

You hereby grant NAKIVO and its affiliates an irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual license to use submitted data in connection with improving, marketing, and/or selling NAKIVO’s products. Except as otherwise set forth herein, use of the information submitted in the Survey is governed by NAKIVO’s Privacy Policy.

8. MISCELLANEOUS

In addition to the Terms, by participating in the Program, you agree that:

  • NAKIVO reserves the sole right to establish and interpret the terms of the Program.
  • NAKIVO reserves the right of refusal of any claim that, in the sole judgment of NAKIVO, does not meet the requirements or specifications outlined herein for Program eligibility and participation.
  • NAKIVO expressly disclaims any and all liability relating to the results of any of its marketing plans or programs.
  • The offer is limited to one request for Eligible Product per Eligible Participant (including its affiliates as defined in the Terms).
  • NAKIVO reserves the sole right to revise or cancel the Program at any time, for any reason, and without further notice.
  • The Program is subject to applicable laws and regulations and void where prohibited.
  • The Program is available worldwide.
  • The Program cannot be combined or cumulated with any other NAKIVO offers, promotions, campaigns, or sales programs, if otherwise not determined by NAKIVO.
  • All data collected, stored, or processed by NAKIVO during the course of the Program will be permanently deleted after program closure.
