Incremental Backups

Perform incremental backups to improve speed and free up storage space. The solution runs a full backup only once. For subsequent recovery points, only those data volumes that have been changed since the last backup cycle (increments) are copied.

Reliable Backups

You can create image-based backups of the full machine, including the OS, or use granular backup to protect only selected volumes, partitions or folders. Backups can run in the app-aware mode to ensure that data is consistent and applications can run smoothly after recovery. For this, the solution instructs applications and databases to flush data to the disk before taking a snapshot.

Configure flexible recovery point rotation using the grandfather-father-son (GFS) scheme to optimize storage space and ensure no data loss. The scheme enables you to store recovery points more effectively, rotating them on a daily, monthly or yearly basis. Set retention for each workflow, specifying how many points to retain and for how long.

Secure Storage

Choose whether to store backups and their copies in a local repository, in a public or private cloud, on detachable NAS devices, deduplication appliances or on tape. Encrypt backup data at the source, when transferring over the network or encrypt the entire repository to ensure end-to-end security against unauthorized access and data breaches. For ransomware protection, send encrypted backup copies to immutable storage locally, in the cloud or in NEC HYDRAstor systems.
